Vote for Iain Richmond.  Vote for Reform UK.

I grew up in Inverness in the 60’s, moved away for University and returned to the area, with a young family, in the mid eighties. I recently retired as a physics teacher. I am astonished by the expansion rate of Inverness without adequate additional infrastructure, whilst woefully inadequate existing infrastructure continues to deteriorate because of lack of care and maintenance. E.g., the scandalous state of some of our pavements, which make accessibility for all, difficult. Let’s change this!!

The Highland Council has become the unskilled custodian of masses of funds and the pusher of astonishingly misguided policies and pursuits, resulting in the complete disconnect from the very people it should be embracing and caring for. Huge amounts are being spent without prioritisation and proper community engagement. Let’s change this!!

The Administrative body of the Highland Council, i.e., the Elected Members, must be held accountable for their poor, ineffective decision making. Let’s change this!!

I believe we can achieve a fundamental positive change for a better Inverness that we can all proudly call home. This is why I want to stand as a Reform UK candidate and represent constituents who also want positive change for a better Inverness. I will work well and effectively, and I won’t be thwarted.

As Reform UK’s Local Government Candidate for Inverness, Ward 14, I will advocate to:

EMPOWER COMMUNITIES We must improve the relationship between Communities and The Highland Council, ensuring that local priorities are reflected in their Plans and Strategies.

BOOSTING LOCAL BUSINESS Support local businesses. Let’s make it easier for them to thrive by cutting business rates & returning local shops for local people to the high street.

SENSIBLE INTEGRATED TRAVEL SYSTEM I will press for a reassessment of the Academy Street Regeneration Scheme and the overall structure of city centre traffic management.

OUR ROADS AND PAVEMENTS It’s time that the pavements outside our homes and businesses are given the same care and attention as other areas of Inverness.  All areas should be safe and accessible for everyone.
