I grew up in Wester Ross and attended Plockton High School. After school I joined the army serving in the Highlanders, now known as 4 Scots, The Royal Regiment of Scotland. I served my country for 25 years including tours of Northern Ireland, Kosovo, Bosnia and Afghanistan and rose to the rank of Colour Sergeant. I am married with four children and in the summer season we run a guest house. I also work as a delivery driver for Tesco.
Scotland needs Reform. We need to end the madness and bring common sense back into our politics. Scotland pays more in taxes than anywhere else in the UK. We face some of the highest energy costs in Europe due to the race towards Net Zero, although Scotland produces a lot more electricity than it consumes. Our beautiful highland countryside is being ruined with more wind farms and pylons which are being built to send energy to the rest of the UK. The Highland’s bus services are declining, roads are in poor condition, healthcare waiting times are awful, the education system is struggling. The lists goes on.
I am very pro-active and I really enjoy making positive change. My time in the military saw me take on many different roles which has made me very good at adapting to new challenges. Becoming a Councillor will be another big challenge that I am very keen to take on. I would love to have the opportunity to serve the residents of Cromarty Firth and make a difference.
Vote Allan MacDonald on June 19th—let’s make real change happen.
