Nigel Farage received a lively reception during an unexpected stop at a Glasgow pub as part of his whistlestop tour of Scotland.
The Reform UK leader dropped into The Marquis in Shettleston, where he was joined by local Reform figure Thomas Kerr. Farage was greeted warmly on arrival, with customers inside the pub quick to recognise him and offer a cheerful welcome.
Footage shared online showed him arriving at the venue, greeting people at the door, and then making his way inside to shake hands with drinkers enjoying an afternoon pint. The visit appeared to catch many locals off guard, adding to the buzz around the surprise appearance.
The unannounced stop quickly drew attention on social media, with people commenting on the unusual sight of Farage turning up in a well known east end pub. For supporters, it was another sign of Reform UK’s effort to build momentum on the ground in Scotland during a fast moving campaign stretch.
Farage has been making a series of appearances north of the border, with the Glasgow visit providing one of the more memorable moments of his Scottish tour so far.
