About Steve

I am a retired NHS Consultant with extensive experience of living and working in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland.

My medical training included General Practice, General Psychiatry, Old Age Psychiatry, and a wide range of other medical disciplines during my time as a junior doctor.

I was initially appointed as a Consultant Psychiatrist by the Caithness and Sutherland NHS Trust in October 1996. Following various structural reorganisations, I continued my employment with NHS Highland until February 2007. During this period, I lived in the village of Dunnet in Caithness and, for many years, travelled weekly to Inverness to conduct ward rounds and participate in a Highland-wide on-call rota.

In February 2007, I became a Consultant Psychiatrist in the Western Isles, where I lived and worked while covering the entire archipelago – from the Butt of Lewis to Barra – for NHS Western Isles. I retired in October 2015.

I have been married for over forty years and have four grown children and three grandchildren.

I am proud to represent a party such as Reform and am passionate about the principles of Family, Community and Country.

I believe in maintaining the NHS as free at the point of need, supporting a strong Scottish education system, removing identity ideology and indoctrination from schools, maintaining the integrity of the UK border, abolishing Net Zero targets, ensuring energy is affordable and available for homes and industry, fostering a prosperous economy, and preserving democracy and freedom of speech.
