“Vote for positive change that will put our families and communities to the top of the agenda, ending our managed decline.”
I was born and raised in South Wales, but the Dumbarton area became my home when I was first drafted to Faslane Naval Base in 2002. Over the years I have lived in Balloch, Helensburgh, the Vale, and Dumbarton, and I know this area incredibly well.
I am a father, and all my children have attended local schools here. My son, who is disabled, and my experience as a kinship carer led me to become the unpaid carers’ representative on the West Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Board. I am passionate about improving support for carers and addressing the high levels of industrial illness in our area, which is one of the most affected in Scotland.
I left the Royal Navy Submarine Service in 2013 as a Chief Petty Officer, with my final role as a Nuclear Reactor Operator. Since leaving the Navy I have worked in engineering consultancy, supporting major projects including Royal Navy aircraft carriers, submarine disposal, Sellafield nuclear waste management, ScotRail overhaul and repair, and wider MOD engineering support.
I believe our education system must better prepare young people for future industries, giving them secure, well-paid jobs and the same opportunities I have enjoyed.
I first stood for Reform UK at the 2024 General Election, finishing third ahead of the Conservatives. I recently stood at the Clydebank Waterfront by-election, where we came second ahead of Labour. I am standing to give Dumbarton a strong voice and deliver real change, respecting our past and building a better future.
