Vic Currie

Reform UK candidate for Shetland Islands

“After a lifetime of service in the Royal Navy and front-line healthcare, I’m standing to deliver common-sense reform and a secure, healthy future”

About Vic

Born and raised in Edinburgh, Vic is a dedicated public servant standing for a radical overhaul of our political system. With a background built on discipline and care, he is committed to replacing partisan gridlock with rational, common-sense decision-making that benefits everyone, not just the few.

After growing up in Edinburgh, he served in the Royal Navy in a variety of theatres including patrolling the Shetland-Faroe Islands Gap, honing leadership skills and developing a firm, pragmatic approach to solving complex problems under pressure. Following service, he transitioned into the healthcare sector, experiencing firsthand the challenges facing frontline workers and the need for evidence-based policies in public services.

Vic is running for Holyrood because he believes current political discourse is failing to address the fundamental needs of the community. He offers a refreshing approach: focusing on practical, effective solutions, ensuring accountability, and fostering a collaborative environment. With a commitment to transparency and a desire to bring long-term, strategic thinking back to the forefront of politics, Vic is prepared to fight for a better future for island and rural communities. He believes that with rational leadership, we can build a stronger, healthier, and more prosperous society for all.
