George Hobbins

Reform UK candidate for Uddingston and Bellshill

“I will stand up for the people of Uddingston and Bellshill with a sense of duty and commitment.”

About George

I live in Lanarkshire and have done so most of my life and have largely been shaped by it. I am standing to give back to the community I admire greatly and to Scotland as a whole.

I joined the RAF and after an apprenticeship was an Aircraft Technician. In civil life I was an Electrical Engineer working on many large and small projects in a wide range of industries including Oil, Gas, Manufacturing, Hospitals, Data Centres and Electrical Power Industry culminating in a management role.

I am my own man and believe firmly in the Local Connection, Locals First, Rejuvenation of our Manufacturing Capabilities, Incentivising our young people, Exploiting the Oil & Gas Resource for our use, Lowering taxes and cost of living, An Effective Care System and fixing the NHS. I strongly believe in a Majority Opinion and not the Minority.  If elected, I will work tirelessly for the Community of Uddingston and Bellshill. The sense of duty that comes with that runs deep and is grounded in something personal and sincere.
