It is time for Reform

William Docherty is proud to stand as Reform UK’s candidate in the upcoming Stirling East by-election. A lifelong resident of the area, William has deep roots in the community and a genuine commitment to representing local people.

Born in Bannockburn on 5th December 1950, William was educated at Bannockburn Primary and Bannockburn High School before beginning his working life at just 15 as an apprentice baker at Ballantynes Bakery in St. Ninians. He later worked for Stirling Council’s Parks Department before enjoying a long and successful career as an HGV driver. Now semi-retired, William remains an active voice for residents and is determined to bring practical, common-sense solutions to Stirling Council.

William’s Priorities for Stirling East:-

  • Safer Streets for Everyone – Push for a greater Forth Valley Police presence and stronger engagement between officers and local residents.
  • Fix Local Services – Scrap the tip booking system, restore fortnightly grey bin collections, and end garden waste charges to make services simpler and fairer.
  • Stand Up for Residents – Challenge Stirling Council when decisions are made without proper consultation and ensure local voices are heard in every decision affecting the community.

William believes Stirling East deserves a councillor who puts residents first, listens to their concerns, and fights for real change.

“I’ve lived and worked in this area all my life,” William says. “I understand the challenges we face, and I’ll be a strong, independent voice for Stirling East, making sure your priorities are heard loud and clear in the council chamber.”

William Docherty and Reform UK are committed to putting the people of Stirling East first — working for safer streets, better services, and a stronger community.
